I have a pair of the Downtown Dappers so I ordered the same size thinking they'd be the same but I had to exchange them for a smaller size. I may have actually needed 2 sizes smaller but I didn't want to pay to send them back again so they will have to do. The boot fits ok in the toe box but the upper is too big (I can only tighten the laces so much, which still leaves a lot of room around my ankle). The quality is good so far (I've only worn them twice) and they look nice.
I've been dying to find men's shoes in my size. I mean, who actually wishes to have the top of their foot exposed, chilly & soggy in the cool & wet months of fall & winter?
I fell in love with The Barrister's Boots in Light Brown & put off buying them until my husband talked me into it over cocktails & I tipsily made the purchase. Due to my mildly inebriated state, I neglected to follow the sizing chart & the shoes that arrived were much too big for my narrow 5.5s. Cue correspondence with Annie. "No worries Sam we can sort this out" she wrote & she was right! Through detailed discussions of how the 35s fit, she encouraged me to try the 33s & they fit like a charm!
The color of these boots is just as stunning in person as it is online. They're gorgeous, soft & smooth! I marveled at the padding along the interior of the boot, as well. Breaking in these shoes hasn't been anywhere near as painful or uncomfortable as any of the other shoes I've worn. They're so comfortable that I've actually worn them every day for the last 3 weeks (except to the gym/taking the dogs to the park). I had to order thicker socks & they lack in arch support, but putting a pair of Dr Scholl's insoles on top of their removable insoles fixed it!
Somehow, I managed to chip the color off the toe on the left shoe on Day 2 or 3 & the laces came a bit threadbare, but in all these boots have held up extremely well! I am truly obsessed & intend on buying another pair in the very near future!!
